Your use of our site confirms your acknowledgement and acceptance of the terms of this Privacy Policy. What information does EMBRACE collect?

Personally Identifiable Information

We only obtain and retain personally identifiable information that you give to us and certain related transactional information, which we collect, based on your use of any password-protected areas of our site. For example, you might supply your name, email address and location by applying to become a registered user or by contacting us via the public interface.

Only registered users who have usernames and passwords are entitled to access the private part of our site. Persons who apply to become members of EMBRACE (policy makers and SMEs) provide detailed personally identifiable information to us in connection with their applications. We may collect information concerning the transaction activities of such users, when they access a password-protected area of our site. This transaction information includes information about the portions of our site such users visit and information about what data they access.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

When you visit the public part of our site, we do not collect data about who you are or any other personally identifiable information except as described above. We do, however, collect certain non-personally identifiable information about you based upon your activity on our site, and, in particular, your Internet Protocol ("IP") address and browser type.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files that are sent from our servers to your computer during a browsing session. In order to make our site more responsive to the needs of our visitors, we may use cookies to assign your Internet browser a unique random number, a sort of anonymous user ID that is stored in a file on your computer. How does EMBRACE use the information we collect?

Any personal data, related to a physical person, which has been communicated to EMBRACE is processed and used by EMBRACE in accordance with the provisions of the relevant national and international laws referring to the protection of private life and processing of personal data as amended from time to time.

The communication, in any form or by any means whatsoever, of any such personal data expressly authorizes EMBRACE to process and use these personal data in accordance with the hereinafter mentioned purposes. Any personal data are processed and used by EMBRACE within the framework of EMBRACE activities including, but not limited to, the promotion of EMBRACE purposes. Moreover information of the user are used in activities carried out and services delivered by EMBRACE.

Personally Identifiable Information

If you apply to become a registered user of EMBRACE and your registration is accepted by the EMBRACE Team, you obtain a unique ID to access the site. If you are a SME/ Policy Maker and you use the modules provided in the registered members’ area of EMBRACE site then your activities in our site are recorded and stored in our database, in order for the system to be operating. If you post information into EMBRACE forms, you have given us that information. If your question is published on our site, your question and your profile (name, company, position and activity) can be visible to other users. Information posted into SME’s Presentation form can be visible to other registered users of the EMBRACE site as well.

We do not sell, rent, loan, or otherwise share personally identifiable information, including email lists, to third parties. You need not take any action to prevent such disclosure. We will, at the direction of entrepreneurs seeking cooperation, share their information, including name, address, and selected business information with members who have expressed an interest in making a specific type of cooperation. We may be required by law, court order, governmental agency, or law enforcement authority to disclose your personally identifiable information. We may also disclose your information to law enforcement authorities investigating suspected illegal activity. We do not combine personally identifiable information with any of the non-personally identifiable information gathered on the public portion of our site.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We compile and analyze non-personally identifiable information on an aggregated basis. For example, we may know that ninety users visited The Project Web page at a specific day or how long the average visitor spent at our site for a time period, but because we do not know their names or addresses they are anonymous to us. We may also use this information to conduct internal research on our visitors' demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand and serve our visitors.

How does EMBRACE secure the information we collect?

EMBRACE secures the information provided by all users on its computer server in a controlled, secure environment protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure by industry standards firewall and password protection, which ensure the confidentiality protection of the information stored on the EMBRACE server and the protection of the information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Only authorized employees of the EMBRACE Team have access to the information provided by the user.

Processing is made by the EMBRACE Team, as detailed on the option "Partners". However, it should be underlined that the use of Internet and the transfer of data via Internet might not be secure.

USERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Registered Users Terms and Conditions

Access and use of the EMBRACE web facility is submitted to the present terms and conditions. By accessing or using the EMBRACE web facility the user unconditionally accepts the present terms and conditions, as well as the legal notice in its entirety.

The EMBRACE Team preserves the right to adapt and amend all terms and conditions of access and/or use of its web facility and / or of the EMBRACE software applications and databases and the user obliges himself to consult any and all terms and conditions, mentioned above, before each use of the web facility. Any access and/or use of the EMBRACE web facility and / or of the EMBRACE software applications & databases implies the agreement of the user on the content of any and all terms and conditions in force at the moment of access and/or use. The registered user accepts that all data he / she submits will be part of the EMBRACE Databases.

The EMBRACE Registered user expressly authorizes the Embrace Team to erase, without any prior notice, any or all of the data entered in the EMBRACE databases, if the EMBRACE Team has been informed by or upon the request of one or more Registered users, acting in good faith, that the data entered by a Registered user do not constitute the true reflection of the EMBRACE user’s undertaking.

The information submitted by the EMBRACE registered user may be used for the purpose of selection for EMBRACE events and research and may be freely used by EMBRACE for online and offline publication, always within the framework and for the purposes of the EMBRACE project. The EMBRACE registered User authorizes EMBRACE to use any data and information communicated by him/her within the framework of the EMBRACE activities including, but not limited to, the promotion of EMBRACE activities and inform him/her of activities carried out and services delivered by EMBRACE.

The EMBRACE Registered user acknowledges and guarantees that he is using the service exclusively within the framework of its commercial and professional activity.

The EMBRACE Registered user is solely and exclusively responsible and liable, towards EMBRACE and towards any and all third parties including any of the EMBRACE Registered users, for the accuracy and correctness of the information he has introduced into the EMBRACE databases. Thus, the EMBRACE registered user shall solely and exclusively bear full and entire responsibility and liability for all consequences, of whatever nature, arising directly and/or indirectly, from the information introduced in the EMBRACE databases to the exclusion of EMBRACE.

The use of all EMBRACE services is free of charge. The EMBRACE Team is not liable for any interruption, delay, errors, omissions, or viruses in or resulting from the use of its web facility and / or EMBRACE software applications and databases.

EMBRACE is neither responsible nor liable for any errors or omissions, or for the results obtained from the use of information contained in the EMBRACE databases.

Under no circumstances shall EMBRACE, its related partners or corporations, managing directors, principals, agents or employees be responsible or liable to the EMBRACE registered user or any one else for any decision made or action taken in reliance on the information in the EMBRACE Web and / or databases or for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or general, consequential or other damages whatsoever, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The EMBRACE registered user explicitly agrees that he /she uses the service provided at his / her sole risks.

The EMBRACE registered user commits not to extract and/or re-utilize all or a substantial part of the contents of the EMBRACE software applications and databases, except to the extent provided for by legal provisions. The EMBRACE registered user acknowledges and accepts that the above mentioned process is not permitted.

The EMBRACE registered user agrees not to undertake any action which conflicts with the normal use of EMBRACE software applications and databases and/or which would cause prejudice to the legitimate interests of EMBRACE. By the present agreement, the EMBRACE registered user expressly authorizes EMBRACE to use any personal data communicated with his free and informed consent to EMBRACE, by the EMBRACE registered user, and to use other personal data communicated to EMBRACE as far as such processing is necessary for the performance of the present agreement. The EMBRACE registered user acknowledges and guarantees to EMBRACE Team that it has obtained the undisputed free prior consent of any and all persons concerned by any and all personal data communicated by the EMBRACE registered user to EMBRACE, such persons being fully informed of (i) all possible and eventual use and conditions of use of such data by EMBRACE, (ii) their right to ask EMBRACE to communicate the personal data in its possession, (iii) the coordinates of EMBRACE, (iv) the categories of recipients of these data, (v) the right to oppose themselves, on demand and without any charge, against the processing and/or use of these data for direct marketing purposes. The EMBRACE registered user acknowledges and guarantees to EMBRACE that any data communicated to EMBRACE are correct and accurate at all times.

Certain links in the EMBRACE web facility connect to other web facility maintained by third parties over whom EMBRACE has no control. The EMBRACE Team makes no representations or warranties as to the accuracy or any other aspect of the information contained in other web facility and it is therefore neither responsible nor liable for any of these sites or their content.

Any dispute arising, directly and/or indirectly, in connection with access and/or use of EMBRACE web facility shall be decided upon solely by the Greek Courts and will be submitted exclusively to the Greek and European Union laws.

Any and all the elements of EMBRACE web facility (for example texts, lays out, illustrations, pictures, functionalities, etc.) and the web facility itself are, among others, protected by national and international rules governing author's rights. Any reproduction, copy, adaptation, translation, modification, alteration, edition and/or diffusion of all, or a part, of EMBRACE web facility, whatever the form and whatever the means, electronic and/or mechanic, is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of the owner of the author's rights. Any violation of author's rights may lead to civil and/or criminal proceedings.

The private part of the EMBRACE web facility includes the EMBRACE software applications and databases. They are original software applications and databases integrating independent data in a systematic and original way, the creation of which has entailed a substantial investment.

EMBRACE software applications and databases are, among others, protected by national and international rules governing author's rights. Any reproduction, copy, adaptation, translation, modification, alteration, edition and/or diffusion of all, or a part, of the EMBRACE software applications and databases, whatever the form and whatever the middle, electronic and/or mechanic, is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of the owner of the author's rights.
